SONEX Enterprises Incorporated was established in 1984 with a single focus: to adapt
the Systems Engineering approach to the integration science for sophisticated systems.
With a concentration on this objective, SONEX developed its proprietary Integrated
System Assurance (ISA). The innovative ISA concept, which is consistent industry
quality standards, introduces a business process oriented on enhancing the success of
organizational objectives as well as individual technology programs. With this process at
their disposal, the organizational decision makers are assured of near real-time oversight
and assessment of critical enterprise objectives. Individual program managers also have
near real time status of technical, life cycle and program management activities (cost and
schedule).
SONEX specializes in risk management and control, life cycle support, information
technology, and organizational improvement.
We have developed proven methodologies and tools to support our services. Our
research and development efforts, in concert with government and academia involving
expert knowledge systems, have resulted in the development of various tools to
streamline the implementation of these methodologies. Our breadth and depth of
technical and functional experience allows us to achieve success on projects that involve
diverse sets of technologies and support requirements.
SONEX has two core competencies:
Software Engineering - SONEX has built sophisticated tools in order to
support the analysis of systems. ISA has at its core, capabilities developed through
internal R&D and the SBIR process. SBIR's are grants from federal agencies to research
and solve a need for that agency. The product developed must also have a commercial
use.
Consulting - SONEX has many years experience in applying the tools and
methodology in evaluating risk within an organization or a technology initiative.
SONEX Leadership
Mr. Xenos has more than 17 years experience with business development, corporate operations, software and communications technologies, expert systems development, and project management. Prior to co-founding LEROS, Mr. Xenos served as director of operations and systems engineering for SONEX Enterprises, Incorporated. He brings an important mix of leadership, management, and technical skill to lead LEROS.
His technical background includes research and development of advanced software centric technologies and development methodologies, quality assurance programs for voice/data switched networks and integrated system, and telecommunications management. He was critical to the conception, research and development of the company's Intelligent Agent Definition (IAD Toolkit) while serving as product software engineer and project manager of its research and development
Mr. Xenos holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with emphasis in Information Systems from Lehigh University and a M.S. in Software/Systems Engineering from George Mason University.
Dr. Ahmed has served as the head of the internal research and development program of LEROS since 2002. He is responsible for providing direction of the process, methodology, and technology adopted for the development of LEROS' proprietary infrastructure and products; e.g., the internal reuse technology and the LEROSnet Agent integrated Internet, Intranet, Extranet (IIE) Environment products. He was also the principal investigator for the research and development of the Intelligent Agent Definition Toolkit (IAD Toolkit). The IAD Toolkit provides cost-effective means of capturing, specifying, and developing event-driven behaviors that organizations need in their day-to-activities.
Prior to joining LEROS in 1997, Dr. Ahmed was the Technology Development Director of SONEX Enterprises, Inc., where he was the architect for the Independent/Integrated System Assurance (ISA) software tool suite. Technology initiatives associated with this work included the application of expert systems and other artificial intelligence technologies to requirement specification analysis, natural language processing, and decision transitivity capture.
Rounding out his 16 years of experience, Dr. Ahmed also worked as a software designer, requirements engineer, software architectural designer, and Information engineering consultant in numerous software houses overseas. Dr. Ahmed, also, worked as an adjunct professor in a number of universities in the United States as well as overseas.
Dr. Ahmed is a member of a number of professional associations. His research interests include software metrics; soft computing based software engineering especially software testing and cost estimation; intelligent agents; and case-Based reasoning, especially knowledge reuse. He has published a number of technical papers in refereed journals and conferences in these areas of research. Dr. Ahmed was a reviewer and referee for a number of technical journals and conferences. He was a technical guest editor of two issues of the Information Sciences Journal (2002 and 2003).
Dr. Ahmed holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Alexandria University, Egypt; and a Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University. Dr. Ahmed was classified as Outstanding Researcher by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service, 1997.
